Marrow Donor Program

Every year 30,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with leukemia. More than 2,000 of those diagnosed with the disease are children. A matched marrow transplant is often the only way to cure this disease. The Oklahoma Blood Institute is the only marrow donor and collection center in the state. Last year, OBI registered 1,158 new marrow donors - our goal is to double that number. However, the marrow donor processing fee for a new donor is nearly $55. This is the only fee the donor must pay, but it is enough to deter potential marrow donors from registering. Your contribution can reduce fees and ultimately remove a barrier for potential marrow donors.
