Blood Recipient Nicona Lane's Story

Nicona Lane is a senior marketing & communications strategist for Our Blood Institute. With the birth of her second child, Brock, in November of 2022, Nicona experienced a placenta abruption. After Brock was delivered through an emergency C-section, Nicona felt weak and even nearly passed out. She was given a blood transfusion to help regain her strength so she could safely take her newborn baby home.

"Because I work for OBI, Our Blood Institute, I know how important blood donations are and how lifesaving it is to patients. I never thought that I would be the one needing the blood," Nicona said.
